Paid & Organic Social Campaign | End to End ProductionFinancial Times, Best Book Award
Case Study
DRIFT partnered with the Financial Times and Schroders to create the launch trailer for the FT Best Book Award campaign, alongside a series of social‑first assets. The concept reimagined London through a Wes Anderson‑inspired lens, using a sequence of carefully composed tableaux across the city, each featuring one of the 20 shortlisted titles as the quiet hero of the frame, shot on ARRI Alexa LF with Cooke anamorphic lenses for a distinctive, cinematic aesthetic.
Our Production Process
Discovery
Aligned FT and Schroders around a single visual concept, turning the award brief into a Wes Anderson–inspired tour of London that could function as both a hero trailer and modular social-first assets.
Pre Production
Scouted and secured London locations, handled permitting, storyboarded 20 distinct tableaux for each shortlisted book, and built a flexible schedule around tight, shifting windows with senior financial and editorial talent.
Production
Filmed across the city with ARRI Alexa LF and Cooke anamorphic lenses, carefully blocking and composing each setup while adapting in real time to access constraints, changing light and executive diary changes.
Post Production
Edited the main trailer and multiple cut‑downs, crafted a stylised colour grade, refined sound and graphics, and delivered a complete suite of campaign assets for use across FT and Schroders’ channels.

Case Study Continued
Working with senior figures from the financial and editorial world meant extremely limited and shifting time windows, so DRIFT coordinated a tightly scheduled multi‑location shoot across London, handling permitting, access and security while building in contingencies for last‑minute changes. The result was a cohesive, visually playful campaign film and a suite of cut‑downs optimised for social platforms, delivered on time despite the moving parts and with DRIFT leading creative development, production and post‑production throughout.
“It’s always an enormous pleasure to collaborate with DRIFT. Not only do they inspire creative concepts and ideas, they take my ambitious suggestions and turn them into something even more innovative and premium than I could have imagined.”
- Mikey Worral, Senior Video Producer @ Schroders
